Super piece. Nothing more exhausting than people faux-framing this as concern for her (and all of the Hers). They do not care a jot about her. The “concerned” are all too often the very same people who’ve spent years, directly or indirectly, telling women to change and to be consistently disgusted with ourselves for existing in the genetic shell we were born into. The media and commentariat can get in the bin on this one. They create a bizarre standard, continue to police them in a hideous manner, and now seem shocked and upset by the consequences? Change until you’re acceptable, but don’t make me uncomfortable. I hate it all.

Great piece!! So glad you wrote it. I had the same thought - why do we care now and what does that say about us?

Thanks so much Natalie xx

Bodies.

Bodies are not to be commented on, big, small or in-between.

Illness, that something completely different.

I hope that my empathy & compassion would have me reach out with care to ask literally anyone in my realm, or otherwise, if they are okay, if there are obvious signs that they are not, big, small of in-between.

That’s a great distinction x

I had to restack because I appreciate the nuance and the real truth that everyone keeps straying away from. Thank you so much for writing and sharing this, <3

I for one am grateful for the GLP-1s that allow me to have good blood sugar, blood pressure, mobility and a bunch of other health improvements without thinking about food very much at all. I get hungry at mealtime, eat something decent and go on with my day.

Not obsessing about food all day is a gift.

It's great to be free from food noise, isn't it? If you ever have any problems with the GLPs (as quite a few people seem to) you could switch to very low or zero carb, it has the same effect.
