Back in November, I pressed pause on this newsletter. I told you at the time it was because of some exciting work news — which would also necessitate a lot of extra work on my behalf — and the thing that had to give (temporarily, I hope!) was my Substack. I’ve missed you guys!
Well, the news was that I had signed a deal with HQ, an imprint at Harper Collins, to write my first memoir. It’s called A Bigger Life, and will be published in September 2026. You can read more about it below but basically, here’s the deal. At the start of last year, I sat down with my dad and I told him the truth—I felt stuck. My life at 38 looked nothing like the one I had envisioned for myself. I felt like I had failed in every possible way and I had no idea how to fix it. He listened to me, and then he said, “Louise. If you want a bigger life, you’re going to have to take bigger risks.”
That’s what 2024 was for me. A year of big swings, of taking risks, of refusing to settle or make myself smaller. A year of prioritising fun and pleasure and adventure, and most importantly, finding myself again. I’m nearly 40 and I have never felt more confident or comfortable in my own skin. At a time when society tells us we are becoming less viable, less visible, I have never felt more alive.
I want every woman I know to experience this kind of freedom and I hope the memoir will help in some small way. And my god, the STORIES I have for you after the last twelve months… Let’s just say the research for this one was a lot of fun lol. (And yes, this is why I couldn’t go into as much detail as I wanted to on here — I had to keep some of my gunpowder dry, ya know.)
Truly, I can’t wait to share this one with you all. All my love x

To say I've been waiting for this is an understatement!!!the amount of single husbands in this book's wake will be epic!!🤣🤣
This is exciting! Also, I love your dad’s advice. Very insightful of him.
I sat on the floor a good few years ago trying to figure out how to sort my life out, and came up with the hashtag #bebrave. I started making decisions with that as a guide and it really changed things - so very keen to read your book and relate to it!
